Maestra Angela Sanchez Rios has over twenty years of experience working with Ayahuasca and is one of the most respected shamans in Iquitos. She treats her patients as if they were her children. Her care is not just during ayahuasca ceremonies. She tends to your unique needs by providing many different types of medicine, including plant vapor baths and plant tonics, and prepares all of the master diets for those who are dieting. Her smiles and laughter are infectious.

Marosa ayahuasca center is co-owned by Tony Inga, Maestra Angela’s son-in-law. Tony is responsible for all the day-to-day tasks, including picking up patients, grocery shopping, construction, management of staff, assisting in ceremonies, and translation. His heart is vast, and he only wants to share his knowledge with you and ensure that your time at his center is full of healing and joy.

Our Center

began with a vision….

Shipibo healer, ayahuasca

Tony Inga (middle) and his mother-in-law Maestra Angela (left) worked for many years at other centers (Arkana, Soltara) when they recognized a need for a more down-to-earth center with direct contact with the plant doctors who are taking care of patients. So they decided to invest their life savings into building a center which is now known as Marosa Ayahuasca Center. The center is family owned and operated with love and kindness.

Marosa was opened in late 2019, right before the Covid pandemic. While the center is in its infancy, both Angela and Tony come with decades of experience in plant medicine. They bring the knowledge of Shipibo science, along with experience working in other centers, to bring the best of both worlds together. Brittany (upper right) is one of Marosa’s apprentices. In the photo to the right are Maestra Angela’s grandchildren and Jordan, Marosa’s first apprentice and facilitator.

“If you are looking for healing or answers or guidance surrounded by genuine and knowledgeable people, and if you are NOT looking for some fluffy exotic resort, this is the place for you. Simple.”
